Watsu Orphan Project

Mission Statement: We provide Watsu and warm water therapeutic contact cherishing and nurturing to orphans, children and troubled teenagers to help them to cope in a changing world. Our unique programs allow for physical, emotional, spiritual and transpersonal well-being as well as create a learning environment for safe touch. I feel the world can be a truly better place when we can hold this space for our children who are the future. Watsu provides quality interaction and bonding. We will provide aquatic education and facilities. The quality of life will be improved and health for every individual from birth onwards. Have access to early aquatic education for babies. Emphasize that babies, children and teenagers are both physical and energetic beings.

Inspiration: “Children’s Promise “ the book revealed to me no matter how difficult a childhood you may have having one other adult that truly cares for you can change your life. In Australia when I had a group of 9-10 year olds one little child said “This is sacred’.  An aborigine girl with a white child was the cue of the depth of intercultural integration this approach provides.

Goals: In the first year of our project we will develop a pilot program in Budapest.

In the 2nd year we will multiple our offerings to communities connected with the watsu allowing for watsu 1 students to volunteer in these set-up communities. A team leader will oversee progress and report back developments and remarks.

Long Term 5-10 years we hope to be visible in several different countries providing services as well as training volunteers who wish to participate in these projects.

Key stages to get to our goal will be to have the financial resources to set-up portable pools in areas where there are no warm therapeutic pools. This will start with an Endowment Fund and further access to monies from other organizations and individuals interested in our mission. During the World Watsu Week of April 20-27, we will send out the volunteers to promote this event and get both interest and sponsorship and grow this to where every community with children will be touched by our special Watsu way of being.

Financing is necessary for Equipment, travel expenses for trainers and providing training for volunteers wishing to provide services locally will be necessary to keep this flowing. Eventually and administrator to overseas this

Equipment: Each facility will be provided with a Portable pool, Filtration system and Heating system as well as sanitation systems with both alkaline and information salts. If the UK pool does not work we can duplicate Kristof’s set-up, we also need a technical consultant. Specs for orientation: Basically he uses a supermarket pool (6m diameter, maybe 80 cm of depth) He has a pump with an active Filter system. Heating up the system with a gas heater (gas bottles) which is connected to the pump system. The set up and the heating up take 1-2 days. Empty weight is about 100 kg. www.watsupools.com

Programs:  Individual one on one water work with babies, children, teenagers as well as group instruction where children and teenagers will learn simple techniques to carry this program on in the daily activities.

A session would start with soft music in the background and sacred feeling for the life we hold in our arms, as children learn to trust they will flower and blossom. Babies would have a smaller pool.

“Like the flower that presents the fruit a person’s childhood is the promise of their future” Hazrat Inian

Locations will be such as provided for Watsu courses 35 C water with aesthetically pleasing environment conducive to relaxation.
